This was the last date on the SKINNYMAN / BLADE tour. I've always been a fan of this particular venue and was looking forward to going back there. I was also really happy to see a few friends that I'd met over the years turn up, BENZULL, DAVE GRAY, WIZ, WALLFLOWER, PODS, BRUNO, JAMIE, and not forgetting STACY & his son KANE, who I met last year for the first time when he supported us at THE CORN EXCHANGE, BURY ST. EDMUNDS. He was only twelve years old then and blew the crowd away with his beatboxing. Also met another beatboxer who turned the heat up on the night, SCUDSY.
We had a good turn out and had a wicked night. The only downside was that it had to come to and end, which also meant that it'd be quite a while before we got to link up with the character that is SKINNYMAN, who smashed it on the night but also treated us to a surprise unannounced performance by a few friends of his who I'd never heard of but who also put on a hell of a performance. I will try to find out their names as I was getting bombarded with people chatting to me throughout the whole night and didn't get to hear what the crew was called. Next time I speak to FLIP I'll be sure to get their names and mention them here, in the hope you'll look out for the forthcoming releases.
And just as you thought that I forgot to mention, we invited a local lad to get on and do the verse on SOLDIERS that LIFE performed on the record, but obviously to bust his own verse. On stepped TRUTH. He not only did the honours but then went into another verse that tore the roof down. I only wish I had that on tape so I could listen to it again.
P.S. Respek-BA ... why did you sign that girl's tits? what's my girlfriend gonna think? How am I gonna explain that it wasn't me, but that you've now perfected my trademark signature? I smell trouble brewing .... hey ... that could be the title of the next album "TROUBLES ARE BREWING"
