YOU DON'T SEE THE SIGNS (12" Single ... PHI-LIFE CYPHER REMIX)
After the success of THE UNKNOWN, the label decided it was time to re-release YOU DON'T SEE THE SIGNS which they felt was slept on the first time around. Add a couple of remixes and the product is re-vamped with so much energy there's no way it can be ignored. The GRANT NICHOLAS remix was only released on the cd, but a few limited edition copies are floating about on vinyl.
The duo were not really happy with there only being one remix, as much as they liked it, and felt deep down that the fans might turn their backs on them if they didn't have a hip hop remix there too .... in step PHI-LIFE CYPHER.
Blade had first talked to LIFE a couple of years before and finally met him at the MEAN FIDDLER event on 24th January 2001, where there was a strong media and radio presence. At that show, GRANT NICHOLAS also made an appearance to check out what these guys were about and was blown away by the performance and next day called the label to give his approval of the wanting to be involved in the project. They later toured together and became friends, and BLADE is now a big FEEDER fan too.
The PHIL-LIFE CYPHER remix was once compared to a train coming at you with an almighty force, by a fan, so all we'll say is ... if you haven't heard this, make sure you do. If you have no idea who PHI-LIFE CYPHER are, where have you been all these years. You really need to go out there and search their material. They are awesome. Their first album, MILLENIUM METAPHORS still remains one of BLADE's favourite hip hop albums of all time and when we asked BLADE what he thought of this collaboration, his reply was .... HIP HOP HEAVEN!!
